Yussuf Jerusalem–a heart full of Sorrow 12″

I know next to nothing about Yussuf Jerusalem. Their myspace page says they are from Paris, but I’m not sure I believe it. They certainly don’t sound like it. They sound a bit like a garage band version of Joy Division, with female vocals thrown in on a track or two. Sound good? I’m excited as hell about them, in any case. You can purchase their wares at Floridas Dying records.  Nine bucks for nine kick ass songs.  Can’t go wrong.

    Hello,

Well, the fact is that they are from Paris and I don’t really understand why you do not want to believe this… Yes, there is an awesome garage music scene in France and you should know that we have great bands too. Wake up, dude. I’m not really sure that you’ve listenned a lot to Yussuf Jerusalem, it doesn’t sound at all like a « garage version of Joy Division » but more like Thee Oh Sees, The Persimmons or that kind of stuff. Well, if you want to discover some other good french bands, check out Born Bad’s website which is Yussuf’s label and also one of the best shop specialized in punk, garage and rock in Paris.
